Komiža

Komiža is situated in a deep bay on the western coast of the island of Vis at the foot of Hum hill. This is a typical Mediterranean town with narrow streets and stone houses side by side.

The population of Komiža has long been involved in fishing and, more recently, tourism. All over the eastern side of the Gulf of Komiža is a pebble beach with many sources of drinking water. The town of Komiža has numerous settlements and islands, and among them are two islands of volcanic origin Brusnik and Jabuka.
