Albania is certainly one of the most mystical and least known countries in Europe, which is mostly due to the years of isolation that Albanian people have endured during the regime of socialist leaders.

From this fortress, famous for the epic song "Zidanje Skadra na Bojani", there is a panoramic view of the entire city and its surroundings. Within the fortress is the Church of St. Stephen, which was built during the XIII and XIV centuries, and later was converted into a mosque.


Shkodra is home to one of the most grandiose Catholic cathedrals on the Balkan Peninsula. It is dedicated to St. Stephen, and after its restoration, Mother Teresa attended her inauguration in 1991. Although born in Skopje, her origin is from this city.


Shkodra is characterized by its narrow winding streets with a very dynamic street trade. Today it is a very interesting destination for lovers of history and legends with interesting surrounding attractions such as Bridge Mes, Remains of City Sarda, Skadar Lake and Castle Lezha.
