Pula known as a pearl of Istria is a historical example of a cross between Italian and Croatian culture. It has one of the best kept Roman colosseums in the world which has been constructed over the period of 90 years. It is designed for 20,000 spectators and now hosts major festivals and artists in the world. This has been known as a go to place for artists in Croatia to highlight their career.

Around all this reminiscent of the Roman architecture you can experience a rich cross in Italian/Croatian cuisine with classic pasta dishes influenced by Croatian sea food. On top of all that lot of restaurants in the area spice things up with a hint of world-famous Istrian Truffles which you can hunt yourself on tours to Motovun forest.

During the night Pula transforms into festival and modern Mecca. With numerous lightshows and festivals of all varieties during the whole summer season, it is a great place to visit if you want to have a great mix of culture but also want to unwind in the evening under a unique medieval setting.

When you decide you need some peace you can visit a small group of 14 Islands known as Brijuni.

They might be small but the hold a truck load of history all the way from discovery of dinosaur’s footprints discovery to Elizabeth Taylor drinking wine with former Yugoslavian president Tito on the porch of his summer residence.

Thanks to these events Brijuni have almost unappalled flora and fauna. With the world famous 2 millennia’s old olive tree, national park, animals like zebra and elephants donated by various diplomats visiting former presidents to over 500 indigenous plants.

Brijuni is certainly a place to behold and admire, toast to you dear Elizabeth and Tito.
